Graduate Technical Programme

Pentana has vacancies for IT-related graduates to take part in our Graduate Technical Programme based in Welwyn Garden City.  The programme will present opportunities to develop skills across a variety of projects and to make a real contribution toward the success of the company. 

During your initial training, you will gain experience in:

  • Testing new product releases
  • Preparing user guidance material
  • Assisting with product installations and configuration
  • Providing technical support
  • Developing in Visual Studio.NET and related technologies

After a period spent in our development, implementation, support and IT management groups, you will join one of these areas for further specialist training and career progression.

Successful candidates will have achieved or be expecting a good IT related degree and will be able to demonstrate strong general IT literacy, good communication skills and ideally some previous commercial experience in a relevant position.  You will be a self-starter and be prepared to learn fast in a dynamic small team environment.

Implementation Consultant

Pentana is seeking an enthusiastic auditor to join our expanding implementation team. The position is based at our main Welwyn Garden City office, a short walk from the mainline rail station and only 25 minutes from Central London. The role is office based, but involves client visits around the UK and opportunities for travel further afield.

As an implementation consultant, you will be involved in all aspects of advising our internal audit and accounting firm clients in use of our software. You will examine their audit methodologies and advise on improving them. You will configure our software to meet their needs and train clients in how to use the software. Duties will include assisting our sales staff by giving pre-sales software demonstrations in person or using web conferencing. There is the opportunity for international travel to assist our US subsidiary and partners, as well as visiting clients all over the world.

You will have an input into the future development direction of our software and will assist in marketing our products through active involvement with professional audit organisations.

Ideally, candidates will have a recognised audit/accounting qualification. The role might also be of interest to experienced software implementers, trainers and business analysts from other industries, who are ready to apply their skills to a new challenge. 

You will have an interest in IT, though you do not need any programming knowledge. You will also need the confidence and personality to interact with senior staff in our major internal audit department and accounting firm clients.

The role offers a clear path to a senior management position within the company.
